Women, Money & the Conversations We’re Not Having

An honest exploration of how we think, talk, and make decisions about money

Money touches almost every part of our lives, yet many of us were never taught how to talk about it openly.

What do we want? What do we earn? What are we willing to ask for? And what beliefs are quietly shaping the financial decisions we make?

This October, Money Mentor and Coach Maggie Emerson joins the Women’s Collective to open up some of the money conversations women often avoid.

Together, we’ll explore the relationship between money, what we believe is possible for ourselves, and the choices we make in everyday life.

You’ll leave with new questions to consider about your own relationship with money and more confidence to have honest conversations about what you want, what you need, and what may be possible.

Notice the beliefs underneath.

Consider some of the ideas you have learned about earning, asking, wanting, spending, and having money, and how those beliefs may still influence you today.

Talk about what we often avoid.

Money can be deeply personal, which is one reason conversations about income, needs, desires, and financial choices are often left unspoken.

Imagine something different.

Explore what may become possible when you begin relating to money with greater awareness and are more willing to name what you actually want.

The Conversations we don't always have

Money is practical. It is also personal.

Most of us know that money affects where we live, what we buy, the work we choose, and the opportunities available to us.

But our relationship with money is rarely only about numbers.

What we believe about money can influence how much we think we are allowed to want, whether we feel comfortable asking for more, how we respond when opportunities arise, and the financial decisions we make.

Many of those beliefs were shaped long before we ever had our own income.

Some may come from family. Others may come from what we absorbed about what women should or should not want, earn, spend, or talk about.

Maggie’s work invites women to look at both sides of money: the practical choices we make and the beliefs and patterns underneath them.

This gathering creates space to begin looking at those conversations more openly.

Maggie Emerson

Maggie Emerson is a Money Mentor and Coach who works with women and creative entrepreneurs on both the practical and personal sides of money.

Her own relationship with money changed after rebuilding her life from a period when she was financially struggling as a single mother. That experience became part of what led her to the work she does today.

Maggie now combines practical money strategy with an exploration of the beliefs and patterns that can influence how we earn, spend, ask, receive, and make financial decisions.

Her work is grounded in helping women create a steadier and more sustainable relationship with money while becoming clearer about what they want and what is possible for them.

Why Spend a Morning Talking About Money?

Because money is part of everyday life, even when we would rather not talk about it.

01

You have a hard time asking for what you want.

Whether it is a raise, a rate, support, or something you would simply like for yourself, talking about money can bring up discomfort that goes far beyond the number itself.

02

You notice yourself avoiding money conversations.

You may be able to manage the practical side while still finding certain conversations about earning, spending, asking, or wanting surprisingly difficult.

03

You are curious about the beliefs you carry about money.

Ideas about what is responsible, selfish, successful, excessive, safe, or “enough” can influence financial choices without us always realizing it.

Money is not just something we manage.

It can also show us what we believe about security, possibility, asking, receiving, and what we allow ourselves to want.

This morning offers an opportunity to become more curious about those beliefs and begin having some of the conversations we may have been avoiding.

What changes when we start talking honestly about money?

Spend a morning exploring the beliefs, questions, and conversations that shape your relationship with money.

This gathering is part of the Wild New Way Women’s Collective and is offered free, sponsored by Wild New Way, Life & Relationship Coaching.

Let’s have the money conversations we’re not having.

Join us for a thoughtful morning with Maggie Emerson exploring money, what we want, what we ask for, and the beliefs shaping the choices we make.
